Cultural Capital in Spanish

In the context of Spanish, cultural capital refers to the knowledge, skills, and experiences that children bring to their learning and understanding of the language.

Cultural capital is an important aspect of Spanish education at St Robert Bellarmine because it can help to broaden children's horizons and enhance their knowledge of the world around them. Children who have more cultural capital are more likely to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of Spanish, which can motivate them to pursue languages as a subject or career in the future.

We aim to develop cultural capital in our students by providing a range of experiences and opportunities to learn about Spanish, such as learning the Spanish language from a native Spanish specialist teacher and learning about important customs and traditions in Spain.

Overall, developing cultural capital in Spanish is important for providing children with the skills and experiences they need to become informed, creative, and culturally aware individuals.
