Hello Year 6,
How are you all? We hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and well. We also hope that you have had a lovely half term and that you all enjoyed the glorious sunshine! We can’t wait to hear about the fun activities that you have been up to!
We really miss you all but want to thank you once again for your continued efforts whilst at home. We are so proud of each one of you for trying your very best. Keep up the good work!
A huge thank you to those of you who have been in touch through our class email, it really brightens up our day! It has been great to see the wonderful work that you have been competing at home. Remember, if you need help with any of the work this week, please email and we will provide support.
The activities for this week include Philosophy questions, Maths, 4-a-Day, Mission Impossible, SPAG, English, RE, PSHE, Spanish, Science and Art. Like we have said before, you may choose some activities and spend longer completing these than is stated on the suggested timetable - this is absolutely fine. In addition, as always, we have added some extra activities that you might like to complete. The mindfulness and well-being activities are good for your relaxation time.
Before half term, we mentioned that there was an exciting national RE competition that you might like to enter. As you know, the official closing date for this is 31st July 2020. However, Mrs Jones, our RE Governor, along with the help of some of the parishioners from Church, has very kindly decided that she would like to organise our own ‘local’ version of the competition. The rules are the same as the official competition so please refer to the leaflet in the RE section of our class page as this will remind you of the task. The closing date for our local School/Church competition will be Friday 10th July as this will allow us to judge the entries and announce the winners before we break up for the summer holidays. We have decided that there will be a winner from EFYS, KS1 and KS2 and each child will receive a £10 voucher. In order to enter, please email a copy or photograph of your piece of work by Friday 10th July to your class email address. All entries will be displayed in Church once it is safe to reopen and a selection will also be shared in the Church newsletter and Facebook page. Don’t forget to enter your work into the national competition too by 31st July for your chance to win £25! Good Luck!
Well done once again for keeping up with your reading. Remember, reading for around 20 minutes each day makes a real difference. Thank you to those of you who have been using Epic! Reading. We have been awarded another badge and as a class you have already read over 250 books! Well done children!
Thank you once again for your tweets, we really enjoy seeing them. Please continue to try to tweet any work that you are proud of. Don’t forget to use the handle @StBellarmine and #Y6SRB.
We continue to miss you all so much. Thank you all once again for working hard and a huge thank you to your parents who are doing a wonderful job supporting you, we really appreciate it.
Take care and stay safe.
Lots of love,
Mrs McQuiggan and Mrs Johnson xx
