The LiveSimply award is an opportunity for Catholic communities - parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies - to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si' to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”.
As a school community we are on a journey with Christ towards the LiveSimply award.
Loving God, you made this beautiful world that we all share.
Help us to live simply,
and be thankful for all that you have given us
Help us to look after our earth,
So that everyone may enjoy it.
Help us to share with others,
so that everyone has what they need.
Amen.
The LiveSimply Award is awarded to schools who can show how they have been living:
Over the course of the next 12 months, we will be working towards our award with a number of different actions.

CAFOD Club
“We are God’s work of art.”
The CAFOD Club are a group of children from KS2 who are also our Eco-Champions. They lead our school in following the guidelines of Pope Francis's Laudato Si book that encourages us as Christians to 'Care for our Common Home.'
Our CAFOD club helps our pupils to live out their faith and strongly supports the
Catholic life of our school. The children have presented assemblies, created displays and taken special messages about liturgy to the classes.
Laudato Si - Care for Our Common Home
Our children came together for a beautiful Collective Worship to share the importance of Pope Francis' message of the Care for our Common Home in Laudato Si.
Sustainable Living
Our children have really enjoyed planting their seeds and bulbs. We are hoping that our children will go out into community and share with their families the fantastic skills that they have learned when doing this. We are looking forward to tracking the growth that is going to take place!
Energy Use
Anne-Marie Clegg from Sefton Eco-Savers came to visit our school and to lead an assembly.
She told us about the impact of our energy use on the environment and gave some really fantastic information to help our school work towards being more eco-friendly and energy efficient.
Reducing Waste
We have been blown away by the fantastic wind chime projects that have been completed by our children at home! The purpose of this activity was to reinforce the importance of making use of what we have got and to also help our school community show to others that what some may consider to be waste, others can turn into something beautiful.
Looking after our Future World
Our Year 6 children took part in a workshop led by Gillmoss Recycling Centre. They learned all about the need for sustainable living and designed how they want their future world to look.
CAFOD CST Workshops
Thank you to the wonderful CAFOD Liverpool volunteers for coming along to our school and sharing with us the importance of the keys of Catholic Social Teaching especially as we continue to work on our Live Simply Award!
During this Collective Worship they shared the importance of sharing our blessings with our Global neighbours during Lent. They reminded us that our Big Lent Walk, as part of our Live Simply Award is a way for us to raise funds so CAFOD can help others around the world.
