Your lesson today is based on making predictions. I know that you are all good at making predictions so you should enjoy this activity. Please see the resource sheet below.
The focus of your lesson today is avoiding ambiguity. Think back to the work we carried out on using commas and hyphens to avoid ambiguity in class. Use the prompt sheet below to help you before completing the activity sheet to consolidate your learning.
I hope you liked using Picture News last week. This week, we have a special edition for you, based on Captain (now honorary Colonel) Tom Moore. I am sure you are aware of the phenomenal work that he has carried out and I know you will agree that he has shown incredible kindness, integrity and bravery. Tom turned 100 last Thursday but he didn’t let his age get in the way of raising an astonishing amount of money for our incredible NHS.
Captain Tom has shown great selflessness during this difficult time. Below is a reflection entitled ‘How can one person make a big difference?'
I thought it would be nice to complete this activity today with your family as part of your English lesson. Please see the resources below.
Your reading comprehension for today is based on VE Day. As you know, we will be celebrating 75 years of VE Day tomorrow and I thought it would be nice to focus your lesson on this today. You will see from your timetable that your history lesson this week is also based on this theme.
A reminder that there are three different levels of difficulty for your comprehension and you can choose the level that suits you best: 1 star is easier and 3 stars is the most difficult. The stars can be found on the bottom left of each page. You can write the answers in your exercise book or print them off. There are also answers at the back but please wait until you have completed the questions before looking at them.
