Hello Year 5,
Well this is our last week of term and the summer holidays are nearly here! What a year we have had! Mrs Rigby and I have missed seeing you and teaching you these past few months and we are so sorry that our together has been cut short but we cannot wait to see you all in September when you return as Year 6’s…. we are glad our classrooms are only next door so we can say hello to you each day.
We have set you some transition activities this week, which got us thinking about all the happy memories and your achievements this year. We became experts on the Ancient Egyptians and went on our great trip to the museum. We learnt all about chemical reactions in science and made our own bath bombs, we went to the Cathedral to see the Advent Service, you strutted you stuff on the catwalk in our Trashion show, made your own toys in DT and created beautiful artwork based on The Great Wave!!
Our last week’s home learning tasks are now online under week 14. As well as the normal activities, there are some transition tasks that you might enjoy and you will find a quiz and some puzzles just for fun.
We have put together a little something for you all to keep as a reminder of our year together. You can print this off if you want to keep it as a nice reminder of the wonderful time we had together in Year 5.
I hope that you have a lovely Summer holidays and enjoy the break from home schooling but do try to keep up your reading and maths over the six weeks so that you are ready for year 6. Use Epic Reading or a book from home to read and remember you can still log on to TTRockstars and Sumdog too.
As we come to the end of the year, I just wanted to say that we have loved teaching you and getting to know you all. You are such lovely class and have made me and Mrs Rigby smile every single day! Thank you and well done for working so hard and continuing to try your best even in these strange and difficult times. You are all superstars and should be very proud of yourselves.
Have a lovely summer and see you all in September.
Lots of love
Mrs Devine and Mrs Rigby
