Message to Parents

Dear parents,

I can’t believe that another week has gone and we are writing another of these letters already. Myself and Mrs Sutton continue to hope that you and your families are all safe and well.

I would like to start by once again saying a huge thank you for another week of home schooling and your continued support during these unprecedented times. Particularly when there are so many things you are trying to juggle at the moment.

We hope that the timetable produced last week offered some more structure and support for both you and the children. So, we have continued with that idea for the coming week. Along with a suggested weekly timetable there is a pack of work on the class page with activities covering different areas of the curriculum. Some activities the children will be able to access independently and some they may need a bit of support with, please just do what you are able to. The sessions have been saved in subject areas so that you can find them easily. If the lesson requires it the web links, powerpoints, information sheets and recording sheets have been saved with each session. If you don't have access to a printer whatever you are able to can be recorded in the exercise book that has been provided.

We appreciate that for some it will be difficult to maintain focus at home and complete the work, when so many other things are going on. So please just do what you can and what works best for you and your child. The most important thing is that they continue with their daily reading, 4-a-day and TTRockstars.  Most children have signed up to Epic Reading but we are still waiting on a few. Could you please check your email to access the invitation to the website? It provides lots of books for your child to read and will be a good tool to get them involved in their own reading.

If you find your child is struggling with any of the work, please look at the new information on the SEND section of the website, which can be found under the Key Information tab.

We love to see your tweets and Twitter has been a good way to communicate with us using the handle @StBellarmine and #yr4srb.  However, we do understand that not everyone has a twitter account so we hope to have a class email account set up soon which can be used to keep in touch with us, share work with us and make communication a little easier. Please look out for an email update about this.

When you are on the school website if you go to the curriculum page and then onto the P.E. page you will find about 20 short videos from the Community Soccer coaches working on skills and then setting challenges. The children may enjoy trying some of the challenges.

Finally, please remember that although it is important that your child continues with their learning whilst at home, their health and well-being, along with yours, is just as important. Therefore, please ensure that you all take time as a family to relax.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for your continued support with your child's home learning. You are all doing an amazing job and we can’t thank you enough.

Take care of yourselves and keep safe,

Sir and Mrs Sutton
