Message to Year 4

Well hello Year 4,

another week at home has passed by already. We hope you and your families are all keeping safe. We're thinking of you all and missing you! We really wish that things were back to normal and we were in school.  We wanted to say a huge thank-you and a big well done for working so hard on the activities that we set for you each week and we want you to know that we are so proud of you all for what you have done and for trying your best during these very unusual times. We hope that the weekly timetable is helping you manage the work and spread it out across the week.

There are some new additions to the activities this week. Mrs McQuiggan has given you some RE work to start working . There is a letter with it for your parents to explain how to complete this. Senorita has also given you some Spanish work to keep your knowledge bubbling. She has also shared some delicious recipes. If you would like to try some fun PE activities, have a look at the PE subject page as Mrs Liggat has added some videos from Community Soccer and some more sporting challenges!  it would be amazing if you had a go at these and tweet them so we can see what you're up to, just like you did with last week's 'keepy-up' challenge last wek.

Well done for keeping up with your reading. Remember, as I said last week. Many of you are now using the online library Epic! Reading  (https://www.getepic.com)  and I can see that you have been enjoying a whole range of books and watching some of the videos too. Epic! Reading emailed me last week to say: “Well done! Year 4 are off to a great start and we have earned our first badge for reading 50 books!”

We had 3 new personal bests on the Friday's TTRockstars challenge although it seems not everybody took up the challenge. But well done to Ariana Whedon, Kate Cosmo and Glenn Cyrus who are all climbing the leaderboard. Let's see what happens this week!

There is also a maths competition being run by Sumdog in which you can compete against other schools. There are daily certificates and overall prizes to be won. The competition ends on Thursday night so if you haven't yet started - get on it! We need at least 10 players or the class won't be entered. A special mention here to Iyla, who has done an amazing job to make into 2nd place on the overall leaderboard.

Please try to tweet any work that you do or any challenges you undertake. We would love to see what you have been working on at home and it really does make us smile. Don’t forget to use the handle @StBellarmine and #Y4SRB.

Keep trying your best with the work at home and do as much as you can. Don’t give up if you think something is tricky because we know you can all do it! We continue to miss you. Thank you all once again for working so hard, and also a huge thank you to your parents who are doing a wonderful job supporting you, we really appreciate it.

Take care and stay safe.

Sir & Mrs Sutton
