Parents' letter

Dear Parents,

Well it is the last week of home schooling (I can almost hear the cheering from school) but sadly it’s time to say goodbye from Year 5. I cannot thank you enough for all your support and help with home schooling, you have done a wonderful job and I hope that you all get a well – deserved break over the Summer Holidays.

I have uploaded this week’s work to the class page, under week 14.  As well as some of the usual activities, there are transition tasks that provide the children with the opportunity to reflect on all they have achieved in Year 5 and to think about their aims for next year. This week’s health and wellbeing toolkit focuses on transition and the children may find this useful too. I have also included a quiz and some puzzles for the children to do…just for fun. There is no timetable this week as the last week in school is always less formal and we spend time on transition activities so please choose from the tasks and as always do what suits you and your family best.

To support your child with transition, please take a look at the Year 6 transition page where you can find useful information about Year 6 and there is a booklet for the children to complete and take to their new class in September. Mrs McQuiggan, the Year 6 teacher, will also be making phone calls to you all this week to have a quick chat with the children. If your child has any questions or worries please do not hesitate to talk to Mrs McQuiggan about them or email us.

Reports are available to collect from the school office and I would like to say a big well done to all the children for how hard they have worked over the year and for all their achievements. I am sure you are very proud of them!

Mrs Rigby and I are very sorry that we were unable to spend the whole year working with your children, they really have been a pleasure to teach and we will miss them very much! They have made us smile every day and we are so proud of their achievements. They really are a credit to you all!

Thank-you again and we looking forward to seeing you all in September.

Take care and all the best,

Mrs Devine and Mrs Rigby.
