Dear parents,
I hope you and your families are all well and enjoyed the weekend. It was lovely to talk to so many of you and the children last week and to hear how they are getting on. Thank-you for sparing some time to talk to me…I know you are all extremely busy.
Please do not hesitate to email us on our class email address below if you or child needs to contact us with a question, to let us know how it’s going or with any work they would like to share.

Once again you can find week 10’s activities on the Year 5 class page of the school website. As ever please prioritise maths/timestables, reading and spellings and pupils can choose from the other activities throughout the week depending on their interests and what they enjoy working on.
This week, in the folder entitled health and wellbeing resources, there is a toolkit which provides a variety of links to advice and videos aimed at supporting children manage their feelings and anxieties during this strange time. You can also find guidance on how to answer children's questions about coronavirus and how to start conversations about their feelings. Finally, there is a book about Coronavirus, aimed at providing children with information and this may be a useful starting point for discussions.
On Thursday 18 June, 10.00-10.15am, there is a special assembly, where the children can join other students from around the country who want to feel more hopeful this summer. If you would like to watch it, please follow this link – cafod.org.uk/schoolstogether
Finally, as it would normally be Sport’s Day this week, there are some sporting activities that the children might enjoy. The Rainbow Games challenge starts on the 20th June, so the days this week can be used to practise. When each days activity has been completed the score card can be filled in. At the end of the challenge (Friday 26th June) return the score card via our class email address above and receive a certificate.
Once again, thank-you for everything you are doing at home in accessing the home school materials and supporting your child in their learning. It certainly isn't an easy task but we really appreciate your support.
Take care,
Mrs Devine and Mrs Rigby.
