In our literacy lessons we read: The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein. After reading the text, we learnt about Philippe Petit the man who walked between the Twin Towers. We used all of our information to produce a biography about Philipe Petit. In our DT work we also built our own model of Philippe Petit tight-rope walking between the Twin Towers.
Some of the children have shared their thoughts on their work and Philippe Petit:
“My favourite thing was making the models of the Twin Towers because I think the Twin Towers are interesting” Freya.
“Philippe Petit is an inspiration to me because he followed his dreams. I really enjoyed learning about him because he is a risk-taker and very exciting” Lucas.
“I liked making the Twin Towers because it was interesting. At first, I thought it would not balance but once we put the weights onto our model it did” Lydia.
