Maths
Nice & Nasty
We played a game today based on 4-digit numbers.
Game 1 Take turns to throw a 0-9 dice and decide which of your four cells to fill. Do this four times each until all your cells are full. Whoever has the largest four digit number wins.
Game 2 Whoever makes the smallest four digit number wins.
Game 3 Set a target to aim for. Then throw the dice four times each and work out how far each of you is from the target number.
British Values
Democracy
Year 4 presented a short assembly about the British value of Democracy. We explained how democracy started in Ancient Greece; how it works in Britain today and how we use a democratic process when we elect our new school council at the start of each year.
Maths
The Calendar Problem
We were given 12 month cards that looked
similar to this. However none of the cards
had the name of the months on. Our job
was to attempt to name each month, order
them correctly and rebuild the calendar.
this. Where would you start? What do you
know about the number of days in each
month?
School Council Elections 2025
Well done to everyone who took part in the school council elections and put themselves forward to be a school councilor. The standard was very high this year and it was a very difficult job for the children to decide who to vote for. After listening to each candidates' ideas, all of the class went to the polling station to cast their votes. It was a very close run thing. Congratulations to our two new year 4 councilors!
