To go alongside this week's 'Sports' theme, it would be great to talk to the children about what helps keep our bodies healthy. Therefore I have included resources to compliment the story of the 'Hungry Caterpillar' to encourage the children to think about healthy foods, as well as exercise. There's a whole range of activities included below to offer variety and a chance to explore different maths, english or more creative tasks at home. If you don't have this story at home there's a youtube animated film on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY
Below are a range of ideas for your child to:
-Make their own story by drawing the pictures in order and adding words/labels
-Create a paperchain hungry caterpillar
-Talk about their favourite foods and what they would eat
-Order the foods eaten into the days of the week and the quantity eaten
-Explore equal sharing to make sure every caterpillar has the same amount
-Create repeating pattern caterpillars
