School Council – Fundraising for Sierra Leone Ebola Crisis
We are very worried about our friends in Sierra Leone. Our school have watched a presentation about our partner school in Waterloo, Sierra Leone. We need to help the families and children out there who are now dying from the Ebola virus. We have put together an Appeal Presentation which we have made with our other partnership schools: Rimrose Hope, English Martyrs, St Monica’s and All Saints Liverpool. This will be available to view via our school website soon. With our local schools we are aiming to raise £10,000 by Christmas.
Please help us by supporting our fundraising:-
Please look on the website (podcast area) to see the video of life in Waterloo, Sierra Leone.
We need to help them and we need to help them NOW.

Dear Parents
We would like to give you the opportunity to meet with the class teacher to discuss any relevant information or concerns that you may have. This interview will be kept reasonably brief and where it is felt that further discussion is necessary, an appointment can be made to meet again at a convenient time.
Teachers will be available to meet parents on the following days:
Monday 20th October 3.00pm to 5.00pm
Wednesday 22nd October 3.00pm to 5.30pm
It would greatly assist in planning the timing of the interviews if you would indicate your preferred time by ticking the appropriate box on the slip below, and returning it to school as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely

There is a proposed strike from Unison, Unite and GMB unions on Tuesday 14th October 2014 which only affects some of the support staff in the school. ST ROBERT BELLARMINE WILL BE OPEN AS USUAL ON STRIKE DAY.
However, there is likely to be strike action from the school that provides our school meals, if this is the case all parents will need to provide a packed lunch on the day. We will inform you of this nearer the time once we have been informed by the school kitchen.

OPERATION EMCOMPASS
Dear Parent/Carer
I am writing to let you know about a new project that all schools in Sefton will be participating in. The project, called Operation Encompass, is being run in partnership with Merseyside Police.
The project, which commences on 6 October 2014, aims to support children who are affected by domestic abuse.
Following a domestic abuse incident attended by Merseyside Police, if children from our school were present, Merseyside Police will notify us early the next morning and prior to the start of the school day. Each school has a member of staff (key adult) who is trained to liaise with the police, when required, whilst ensuring support is available to the child.
We are committed to providing the best possible care and support for our pupils.
In the meantime, if you would like to speak to someone further about the project or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mrs Davies, year 1 teacher.
Yours faithfully
M O’Neill Dowell
